Lets see where we are going.

So like most college students, if I need to travel somewhere I hop on my computer before I leave and go to Google Maps or Mapquest.  We do this 1) because we do not have the funds to buy some fancy gps, I have better things to spend my money on like this Periodic Table Duvet

to help me learn while I sleep. And 2) It is a lot easier to interact online than with some limited TomTom or whatever brand with a funny name you may have.  Plus I really love seeing where I am going. And thus the topic of this post.  Google Maps have this great feature called Street View.  Basically Google has been sending out vans across the country that have the ability to take 360 degree as you would see driving down the roads. It comes in very useful if you are trying to find a driveway before you get there or if you are directionaly challenged like my brother and you have to see it a million times before you get it right.  Needless to say this captures real life and whatever is going on at the time the van drives by.  Often times people who are using this feature find some funny pictures and they become viral (spread throughout the internet)  Here are some of my favorites:

The Gun man in Rapid City, South Dakota

The battle of a two men in PA

Two men go at it in full battle gear.

Two men go at it in full battle gear.

Sometimes, like many drivers you encounter an animal in the street.  This link chronicals the life of a poor deer caught in the line of one of theses vans.

Needless to say, these maps provide people with a street view of where they are going.  The view is not available for every street, but google will continue its quest to conqure the world (at least every road in the US).
